County Board Strategic Planning Process

The Mercer County Board of Supervisors decided to take a leadership role in economic development in winter of 2021. This project included a community forum, community survey and eventually produced a comprehensive economic development strategic plan, thanks to the support of the RISE Local and Regional Planning Grant Program with Illinois DCEO.

The Prosperity Advisory Committee was endorsed by the Mercer County Board in 2022 as an advisory group for economic development to the board. It was through the advisory committee that the idea for the Alliance was formed for county-wide economic development efforts. The Prosperity Advisory Committee still maintains an advisory role to the county board and the progress of the strategic plan.
